Rainbow theme trip in Mauritius: Cultural sample Have you ever wondered where you would be today if you had chosen another educational path or if you had further explored your interest in drawing? Is there a little artist inside of you wanting to come out and dance or are you eager to get moving insights into the world of Arts & Culture? Maurisun’s Art and Dance workshops provide you with the opportunity to access your inner treasures. For the first part of the day, Sanedhip Bhimjee, choreographer, dancer and director of Art Academy leads through a series of exercise. Based upon themes like nature, moods and emotions, these improvisations are simple movements from everyday life. With a touch of grace, they turn into dance. By using movements from all walks of life, you create your own exclusive dance experience; the use of metre and rhythm adding choreography. This is indeed very helpful for stress release, team building, personal development and life enhancement. At noon, a hearty lunch of traditional Mauritian cooking is being served to replenish and invigorate tired bodies. In the afternoon creativity is in demand. What has been moving inside may now be freed. In collaboration with Krishna Luchoomun, internationally renowned local artist, lecturer at the M.G.I. School of Fine Arts and active member of the local artist’s organisation pARTage, the themes and inspirations experienced in the morning dance session will be painted and drawn. You are thus encouraged to express yourself through form and colour while working on your personal piece of art, which will be yours to keep. Under Krishna’s gentle guidance you learn to externalise your creativity and bring your individual experience onto canvas. We are sure that at the end of the day new talents have been discovered and new outlooks gained. In addition you will have a priceless and unique memento of your stay in Mauritius. |
