Some hundred years ago, the first visitors arriving in Mauritius found a tropical paradise. Trees and bush covered most of the island’s surface from the mountain tops right down to the sea; home to an large variety of fauna and flora, many of its species existing nowhere else in the world.

Even though global development has had its impact in the meantime, a vacation in Mauritius still offers beautiful landscapes to see and rare endemic plant and animal species to discover.
